Organizer
HALS Foundation was established in 1992.
The main target of its activity is to popularize sailing and marine culture among the youth and organize their cultural life. The Foundation realizes its aims through organizing and financing of sailing camps, boat races, sea cruises and Under the Sails holidays for children and the youth. It is also an organizer of the International Sailors Song Festival in Cracow, shanties and sea songs concerts, marine workshops, meetings with sea dogs, famous sailors, captains.
Among the most important undertakings organized by the Foundation the following ones can be mentioned :
* International Sailors Song Festival since 1993
* Summer Shanties Festival in Bory Tucholskie since 1998
* Concert for the Polish TV on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the foundation of Gdynia in 1996
* Shanties Benefis in STU Theatre for the Polish TV in 1998
Publishing has an equally important place among the foundation s activities. HALS Foundation is a publisher of books about marine traditions, shanties song books and also over thirty CD and cassette titles with shanty music. On the Internet the foundation runs a store where it offers over 100 titles of cassettes and discs with shanty music and dozens of titles of books about sailing.
